Women in Business

Reading the latest statistics about the shortage of top quality business people, it's clear that there is an increasing demand for women managers, entrepreneurs, leaders and executives.  I've found that most of my clients over the years have been women. They've been from consulting, IT, sales, senior management, board level, company owners and more. What they have never failed to do is amaze me at the things they achieve.  (Perhaps they amaze themselves too!)  Often they start from feeling a bit guilty about not being confident enough. We work on this in a way that seems to me to have a different energy from that I notice when coaching men.  It's hard to describe, but it's certainly not weaker, it just seems slightly more introspective, more encompassing. Once we start to pick up threads I've noticed the women I've worked with really 'get' it and they're off!  Things start happening for them in extraordinary ways. They get results that, as I said, certainly amaze me. In my experience it's not uncommon for them to create better relationships, better teams, better strategies and as a result, increased productivity, decrease stress and enjoy what they're doing. Although it's not necessarily on their original agenda, they often get more positive recognition and frequently get promotion and get paid more too. (Often substantially more.  I have examples well into double percentage figures, more than once within 3 months of starting coaching.) Often this has come about from a starting point of 'not feeling confident in a particular area', or having a feeling of being 'really frustrated about things going on here'.  My intuition is that there are a great many women in this position, and with just a little of the right sort of coaching and support, they'll absolutely fly.
